This learning area is designed to provide a general background for the understanding of the Earth on a planetary scale. It presents the history of the Earth through geologic time. It discusses the Earth’s structure and composition, the processes that occur beneath and on the Earth’s surface, as well as issues, concerns and problems pertaining to Earth’s resources.

Earth science is an exciting branch of science with many interesting and practical applications. The Origin and Structure of Earth provides an overview of the universe and of Earth and relates how the unique characteristics of Earth are important in sustaining life on the planet. Rocks and minerals explore the formation of rocks and minerals and how these materials affect and are affected by different endogenic and exogenic processes. Energy Resources discusses the various sources of energy which can be converted into electricity. Water Resources provides a brief encounter on the importance of water. Soil and Man, Human Activities and Environment looks at how man affects soil as a resource and the environment. Earth’s Processes and History explores the different exogenic and endogenic processes that occur on Earth, concepts of plate tectonics and contains discussion on the chronological development of both Earth and the living things that have walked on the planet.

Welcome to our General Biology 1, a specialized course for STEM students like you. This 8-week course is designed to extend your understanding and appreciation of life processes at the cellular and molecular levels. It also covers the transformation of energy in organisms. It is composed of 5 Major topics that contain lessons and engaging learning activities. 

            This is a grade 12 level STEM course. General Chemistry 1 (CHEM1) is a pre-requisite for this course. You may find that this is challenging. You will need to develop good study habits, including reviewing some lessons in CHEM 1 and developing problem-solving and analytical skills.

            In this course, you will be discovering the molecular interaction among the particles of a matter. You will study the properties of solutions, chemical kinetics, and chemical thermodynamics. This course will also cover the principles of chemical equilibrium and the rates and mechanisms of chemical reactions. An exploration of acids and bases and a brief introduction to electrochemistry will also be part of this course.

Welcome to your new friendly science course! Everything will be easy if you will do things diligently. Majority of our lessons will be familiar to you as they are already been discussed in your science subjects in junior high school. This course will try to expand and deepen your knowledge in physics to allow you better understand our physical world.
